Luke Chappel, class of 1965, was elected President of the DSU Alumni Association on May 18. He succeeds Esthelda R. Parker-Selby. Chappel, who is originally from Connecticut, is a resident of Smyrna, Delaware. He is a retiree and part-time school bus driver for the Smyrna School District.

Chappel is also fulfilling his term as president of the Kent County Alumni Chapter. He is also an active charter member of the DSU Alumni and Friends Twilight March Committee, and is a member of the graduate chapter of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.

THE ALUMNI ASSOCIATION
The Delaware State University Alumni Association is an independent organization incorporated, in 1967, to promote the positive growth and academic excellence of the University through the efforts of active, dedicated and loyal alumni. The business of the Association is administered by elected officials. Elections are held during the Annual Meeting, which is held the Saturday prior to Commencement. The Association offers three type sof memberships -- Regular Membership (Class A) is open to graduates and former students who did not complete the baccalaureate degree, but attended at least one year; Associate Membership (Class B) is open to husbands, wives and parents of alumni and to faculty and/or staff of the University; Life Membership is available through conveniently arranged regular payments or one full payment.
